If you know both breeders why not ask them for the EPD's of at least the bull's the calves will be out of and if possible the cows? In my opinion the Herefords look better naked, could just be me but the carcasses just look nicer with better fat deposition and muscle development, not overly muscled but the just right look.
Given the same feed and water I haven't noticed any difference in the taste between the two. I haven't met a mean Herf and have had our old gal AI'd while I held her by the horns.
