October 23, Discussion about this post. Trending Comments Latest. How many people play League of Legends?

Read my mind 2. Adult Written by ffertyrer August 1, Adult Written by judy g. November 21, Do not let your kids play this game I just quit this game after years of off and on playing. Lately this game is extremely toxic. Players say things such as go kill yourself and your trash if your not doing well. The odds that every lane will win is very minimal. People will go on and troll for fun. I've been gaming since I was 5 years old console and PC. This game is very addictive.

It's free to play but they offer the option to purchase free cosmetic items. I've heard of people spending thousands on this game. Kids and young adults really shouldn't put as much time into a game that degrades you.

I'm in my 20's I'm not a parent nor a kid but I can only imagine how negatively this can affect someone who is still developing interaction skills.

I myself have stayed home from events just to play. Adult Written by Zeff October 5, A dangerous community to allow your kids into This game is filled with thousands of dollars of microtransactions, some single transactions costing over dollars USD worth of premium currency. Community is nearly unmoderated with few accounts being banned and those that are, Riot allows anyone who is banned to make a new account and resume their behavior of harassment and bullying.

This is a dangerous space to allow your child into. I have never seen more disgusting language shared between humans than what I've read in the chat rooms during and after games. The game is more of a virtual bullying chatroom than a game. If I save 1 child from being allowed to play this game, then this review was all worth it.

Please protect your children from companies who foster communities like these. They're dangerous. Adult Written by Tastefulrice July 24, The worst game ever managed. This game has a list of flaws longer than your average 9 year old Christmas wish list. I would never recommend this game because of its poor game mechanics and moderation team.

Anything made by Riot Games should be a hard 'NO'. It is obscene, obscure, and a complete waste of time. I hope you take this review into consideration because the fate of your future lies within the confines of each review that is offered about Riot Games. Specifically, League of Legends. Adult Written by IloveGaming July 19, This is easily the most toxic, abusive relationship you will ever experience or see. Abuse like this in real life would result in a police report.

A restraint order. People rage, rage, rage, abuse with the most nasty, evil things to say; the raging comes from the game developers not making games evenly matched. This will repeat over and over and over as you get more and more disappointed, frustrated and literally emotionally BEATEN DOWN by angry children, angrier teenagers and still developing young adult boys who say things such as "go f'ing neck yourself" amongst any other evil, gross or cruel thing you could possibly think of.

You will get all of this and more in league of legends and especially in ranked! Do not bother. Do not spend a cent. Do not allow your kids to play this unless you want them to slowly be turned into evil, angry children that this game promotes and permits.

Adult Written by Stefanos February 24, Waste of your kid's precious time Try to keep your kid away from this game. It will ruin your kid's discipline and his will power to do something with real meaning.

It will make your kid feel useless in real life, because in real life there are real problems that need time investing. If your kid will invest his precious time in the game, he will lose a lot of opportunities in real life on so many levels.

Toxicity Slowly Being Addressed I tried playing this game last year and the game had a ridiculous amount of toxicity, cyber bullying and griefing. After coming back earlier this month, I have noticed the game developers have begun to address these things even more.

Players have the ability to report other players for hate speech, racism, sexism, leaving the game, going afk, and even having a negative attitude.

Provided your reports are consistently accurate meaning you don't report people that shouldn't be reported and as long as you don't allow people doing this to drag you down to their level so you're joining in the negative behavior, your reports will be taken seriously, especially if the people you are reporting get reported by multiple players.

The reports of higher level players who don't get reported themselves are given more weight as well. If a toxic player gets themselves into enough trouble, they will receive disciplinary action warning, temporary ban, permanent ban. It is comparable to baseball. To someone who hasn't learned just how tactical AND strategic the game is, it looks simple enough. In fact, the only requirement for victory is to destroy the enemy team's base while keeping your own from being destroyed! However, the tactics and strategy are on the same level as baseball.

You've really got to plan out which players do what, when and where. The depth to this can be overwhelming. Like a rookie in baseball saying "what the heck is an infield fly rule and why am I out? Adult Written by Drascian November 16, A Game of Trolls League of Legends is a very old game that advocates for the bullies.

They've had a decade to do something effective about the toxicity continually building up in the game but have done very little to solve this ever-present issue.

Most of the time the people getting punished in the game are those who are just frustrated with flagrant negligence or intentional trolling. If you talk in Chat you will most likely get banned if you are being harassed and bullied. I personally have been bullied by the entire team and have gotten chat restricted or permanently banned because I was "arguing" with teammates. You don't even have to cuss or be mean about it.

You just have to argue. Then you get reported and you get punished. This is marketing tool for Riot. If you have an account you'll learn that eventually you will get all the champions, and get all the good skins.

Then riot doesn't make anymore money. So how do they make sure the money keeps on rolling? They ban your account so you make a new one and buy more of their crap.

They will perma ban your account, but they won't block your credit card from future transactions or put your ISP on a ban list.

However, most matches are not up to that level. They're casual matches. Even in a ranked match, though, you have to question the legitimacy of yelling at another player because they're not doing very well. If you do well in that match you have a chance at being moved out of Bronze, or Silver, or whatever rank you happen to be situated in, but it's still just a game.

Besides some crappy in-game rewards, you're not getting anything. There's no money involved. There's no trophy involved. You are not gaining anything from winning that match other than a better status in an online game. Too bad most of the League community doesn't grasp this.

Even a few angry players just suck the fun out of the game for everyone else, but there are more than a few. At the end of the day, it is a game, and it is meant to be fun. In fact, the toxic community of League of Legends is so bad, there's a rap about it. No, I'm not joking. Though I can't include the video of the rap itself, or a video demonstrating just how toxic the players can be because of the amount of cursing involved - if you're interested in finding out for yourself, just play a game of League on your own, or type in "toxic players league of legends" on YouTube.

Losing Friends. I've seen a lot of friends play League, and they get into fights over everything and anything. If you don't have a correct build, they will let you know.

If you don't use an attack at the right time or dodge at the right time, they will yell at you. If you're not good enough at being a Support, they will yell at you. It's the toxicity of the normal players, but with people who you are supposed to like. I had a friend one time who was so serious about League of Legends, that when he tried to get a new friend of his into it, he would complain about every little thing this kid did wrong.

They weren't playing in ranked. The match wasn't based around money or any set of reward. My friend wasn't even offering any constructive criticism.

He was just yelling and making the new kid feel horrible about himself. It's safe to say their friendship didn't last very long. This is not a one-time occurrence either. Someone on the League of Legends forum posted a similar experience.
